Malawi, formerly known, as Nyasaland is a poor, densely populated country in southeastern Africa. In size it is slightly smaller than Pennsylvania. Malawi has a sub tropical climate with a rainy season from November to May. Agriculture is the main economy with 85% of Malawians farming. The British established it in 1891 as an addition to their empire. As of 2003 there are and estimated 900,000 people living with HIV/AIDS, out of that 900,000 people, 84,000 will die every year because of AIDS related health complications.
